I'm currently taking a beginning jewelry class at Austin Community College and it's going great. The time typically flies by even though it's an all-day class from 10 am to 4 pm. You can see my design below: it's a scale drawing I made by measuring the parts and using the digital caliper to try to keep everything accurate. It's required to include a rivet which should be interesting: I've only done copper rivets before. Love my teacher for this class. She's an amazing artist so I know she'll put me on the right track.
The first time I heard about this class was when I moved to Austin. I had dropped out of Baylor and was trying to finish my degree in education at Concordia Lutheran College (now Concordia University). That was in 1991. So all this time, for more than 30 years, I've wanted to take this class and now I'm finally having the courage to try it. Such a blessing!
Have you ever wanted something for a really long time and then one day you finally got it? Tell me about it in the comments!
